My baby is turning one!

On a "Mom" note ~ my baby will be turning one this Friday! I can't believe it ~ time goes by faster and faster the older you get I think. Anyway ~ we are also throwing his first birthday party this Friday. We're expecting about 200 people so there's quite a bit of planning going into it. I just hope it all goes okay. I still have things to take care of! *sigh* ~ all the different hats a Mom wears..."event planner" is just one of them. :)

WAHM Recommendation

I just had to share with you a great WAHM that I've met at Mom Masterminds. Her name is Nola and her business is ClassicCreationsDesign.com. She designed the header at The Personalized Baby. She also created my e-book cover which you can see at www.AllAboutFastpitch.com.

I had family members that want to get their business website going. I'm sure they could have eventually built it themselves, but I referred them to Nola and told them to check out her services and get a quote from her. They are so thrilled with her proposal and are excited about getting their website up and running!

In my experience, Nola is always very prompt in responding to inquiries. She not only gets the job done well, but gets it done in a timely manner too! Her prices are very reasonable and I definitely recommend checking her out if your in the market for any of the services she provides.

The fact that Nola is a member at Mom Masterminds tells me that she's serious about her business. The quality of her work proves that to be true.

Great job Nola! It's been a pleasure doing business with you and I look forward to working with you again in the future.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Will I make it this month?

Last month I was able to earn a Google AdSense check with just the earnings from October. I would love to do it again this month, but I have a feeling I'm not going to make it. I'm really not that far off target. However, last month, I consistently earned the amount I needed to per day to make the cut. But this month, I'm having a bunch of "low" days....so it looks like I'm not even close to making it. Then next thing you know I have a huge day and that puts me pretty close to where I need to be. It's such a tease!

I'd like those huge days to come twice a week instead of just once....then I'd know that I'll probably make it. Another thing that works against me is the Thanksgiving holiday ~ I'm prettty sure traffic at my site will be slow over that weekend as people will be out and about doing other things. Less traffic means less AdSense clicks and less earnings.

Anyway ~ stayed tuned to see if I make it this month. As of today, the 15th I've earned 47% of what I need to earn a check for the month of November. If I don't make it, then the earnings will just carry over to December and a check will be sent out after the end of December.

Disappointed - 31 inches!

Here's an issue just about all moms can relate to ~ losing baby weight! My SIL asked me to be in her wedding. Therefore, I had to go down to the dress store to get measured. I already knew that my waist wasn't what I'd like it to be, but goodness ~ 31 inches! In high school my waist was 28 inches ~ so I thought 29-30 inches was bad enough. I told the woman who was measuring me that I was still trying to lose baby weight. She said, "Oh, you just had a baby?" I was like, "Well....not exactly, my son will be 1 in Dec."

*sigh* ~ I used to think it was a bit odd when people where still blaming their baby for added weight a full year after giving birth. Now here I am in that same situation. So....I have a new goal! Get down below 30 inches by mid-January (that's when the wedding is). Losing about 7 pounds would be nice too, but I'm more worried about the inches. If I start exercising and don't lose much weight due to muscle gain, that's fine, but I sure better start losing those inches! It sure would be nice to fit back into my pre-pregnancy shorts. I've put off buying bigger shorts because I kept saying I'd get back into those shorts.

After I gave birth to my 3 girls I was back to pre-pg weight in about 2 months and back into my pre-pg clothes by about 6 months. So on top of my son giving me the hardest time during pregnancy as far as aches and pains, he's also been to toughest to get back into shape after.

Anyway ~ that's my new, personal, non-business goal ~ get my waist to measure less than 30 inches by mid-January!

WAHM Stress!!!

You think being gone a few days isn't such a big deal; especially when you clear your "to do" list before you go. Well, let me tell you, I'm stressing! So many things came up while I was gone that I have to deal with now. Some are work related, some business related, and some personal. I lost my license. Don't even ask...LOL. Then, my car isn't working right. I have to get the trans fixed. That means rental car! Well, without a license, you can't get a rental car. So I had to go down to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles so I could get a duplicate license so that I could rent a car while my car is in the shop. *sigh* I didn't get to work until after 1:00 and I had so much to do. I couldn't really stay late because I had to be home in time to pick up the kids from school. So now I'm home and I brought some work with me. Needless to say, it's been a very long day. We also have new puppies that I need to get in the paper this week and my son's birthday party in less than a month that I need to finalize plans for. There's a lot more going on, but that's about the jist of it.

Whew ~ I need a vacation! :)

Seminar was AWESOME!

I know I said I wasn't going to be around because of my trip, but I had to say one more thing before I go. The seminar I did last night (the very first one I did all on my own) ~ was UNBELIEVABLE! I had sooooo much fun! Yes, me, who couldn't stand speech class in high school ~ I enjoyed, thoroughly, getting up in front of about 60 people and doing this hour long Student-Athlete and College Recruiting Seminar. You know you've found something you really, really like when you do things you never thought you'd be doing just because you believe in it so much. Okay, I just had to share that before I go.

Also, as I am packing...I know so last minute....I realized that I can take my laptop with me on the trip. :) ~ I don't know if the hotel will have wireless access, but if it does, I'll at least be checking e-mail. LOL ~ I probably won't be posting, but who knows?

Seminar Tonight & Trip Tomorrow

WooHoo! I've got a Student-Athlete and College Recruiting Seminar tonight ~ can't wait! Then tomorrow afternoon, DH, my son, and I fly out to Maui for a pre-season high school softball trip. I didn't even pack yet ~ yikes! I think it's time to check out that Mom Masterminds audio course on "Getting Organized and Managing Clutter"!

I've also got a new idea swimming around in my head for yet another website. Hmmm....we'll let it stew over the weekend and see what happens. :)

Because of the trip, I won't be around until Monday. So no new posts until then.....or maybe I'll have something to write about when I get back from Maui on Sunday night, but don't hold your breath ~ :). Have a wonderful weekend!

Gas Relief - No I'm Not Talking About Antacids!

A while back I posted about our gas prices here being motivation to become a full-time WAHM. Well, this week, we got some relief. I paid just $2.79 for a gallon of regular unleaded this morning. You can believe I filled up! That's so much better than the $3.79 we were at some time ago. This gas cap thing we've got going on here sure is a rollercoaster ride. Prices change from week to week.

Working through frustration

One thing about working for yourself is that you aren't guaranteed a certain amount of pay every month or every two weeks. Although I am earning more than I did before from my at home ventures, I really want to take bigger leaps!!! It can certainly be frustrating when you don't have instant wealth ~ LOL. I know....I'm not expecting to get rich quick and if I continue at the rate I'm going I'll have a nice steady progression to where I want to be.

Right now, I feel impatient though. I want more progress sooner. But I also do not want to have to work lots more to earn lots more. After all, the whole point of being a WAHM is to have MORE time with your family. I thought about outsourcing, but I don't even know where to begin as far as finding someone to do some work for me. *Sigh* ~ I guess it's something I really need to sit down and formulate a plan for. What are my concrete goals? What is it exactly that I want to accomplish and what am I going to do to get there? I've got long term goals, but I need the shorter term ones to help me get there. Before I can outsource, I need to figure out what I want to outsource. Which tasks are going to get done better through outsourcing? Which ones, by outsourcing, are going to give me the most for my money? What is it that's going to take my business to the next level?

Thoughts to ponder....lots of questions and not too many answers. It's definitely something for me to work through. I think sorting it out will ease some of the frustration and impatience I'm feeling at this point.
